Bizarre Detective Agency

Chapter 99: 15. Anna's daily life

Chapter 99 Fifteen. Anna's Daily Life

"Welcome to stranger, this is Haders' detective agency, Haders left Belfast for something, I am his brother Harkus."

In the narrow space behind the bar, a figure spoke to the door Lu Li. Between the opening and closing of his mouth, a faint golden light flickered under the oil lamp.

After Lu Li did not leave the door, he stood behind the door, his figure hidden in the shadow that the oil lamp could not shine. The blurred outlines showed a hint of strangeness.

As the sense of danger outside the door gradually faded away, Lu Li returned to his original calm and left behind the door.

"What's outside?" Hades saw something and waved to Lu Li.

"I have no idea…"

glanced across the door, Lu Li let out a heavy breath, walked to the bar and sat down.

   "Stop lying?"

When the lie was exposed, Hades was not embarrassed at all, and he was full of a smile that allowed everyone to see all his golden teeth: "At least I didn't lie to you in the second half of the sentence, I really have a brother named Harkus. So you Are you here to ask 'free' questions?"

   He underscores the word free.

"Um."

Just like Harder admitted it, Lu Li also admitted his purpose: "The last time you said the ghost became stronger, you meant something. I want to know why."

Hades was ready for Lu Li to ask this question, and chuckled: "Humans walk under the sun, and ghosts breed in the dark. One is the living and the other is the dead. We are originally two opposites. This kind of existence. It is normal for the dead to covet the living."

"That's not enough to convince me."

Lu Li shook his head, it was like some kind of racism - very typical prejudice and prejudice.

Haders seemed to know that Lu Li would say this, and smiled mysteriously: "Many people are afraid of ghosts, don't you want to know why?"

Lu Li didn't speak, that's what he came here for.

"Not just because they are ghosts - after all they were once living people, why should we be afraid of them if every ghost is the same as when they were alive? The real reason is...the moment they became ghosts, they were already invaded by some kind of breath of the inner world. The more powerful they are, the more serious the invasion will be. If you have seen a Wraith, you will know how strong the dark aura is on it."

Hades was lying on the bar, leaning forward, and solemnly said: "One last reminder..."

  …

After ten minutes, Lu Li said goodbye to Hades and walked out of his detective agency.

The closed gate behind him blocked the wind chimes. Lu Li stood under the eaves of dripping rain, looking out at the street.

In the distance, a large number of fishing boats are moored in the port of Bester, and the light gray sea is ominous. There were not many pedestrians on the street, horse-drawn carriages occasionally passed by, and steam cars disappeared in this weather.

Pedestrians were mostly holding umbrellas, but Lu Li never saw the petite girl holding a large and thick gray umbrella.

It is unknown what Lu Li was, but the sense of crisis he had in contact with her told Lu Li that if he refused her and did not listen to her, extremely terrible things would happen.

Fortunately, just like Lu Li didn't violate the girl's words, the girl didn't do anything to Lu Li.

He held up his umbrella and stepped on the wet bluestone slab with his rain boots. Lu Li returned to Sailor Street all the way and ordered a chicken soup, mashed potatoes and a piece of white bread at Mrs. Film's Bakery. Because of the heavy rain, the children were already worried about getting sick. The adults were dragged home.

Holding a hot pot of mashed potatoes, he passed the longhouse. Lu Li saw the window of the detective agency. Anna was leaning on the dining table with her hands on her cheeks, staring at the bottle of tulips on the windowsill.

She noticed the figure outside the window, her eyes shifted from the tulip to Lu Li, her bright eyes gradually narrowed, curved into a happy arc, and she waved to Lu Li.

"No matter how kind, lovely and popular your ghost is, when her power increases, it will inevitably be affected - otherwise why do you think no exorcist does it?"

Hades' last words came to mind.

Lu Li nodded to the girl who was very happy to see him back, left the window, and returned to the detective agency shortly.

Ana floated in front of the door, reaching out to take what was in Lu Li's hand.

   "Hot to touch."

Lu Li simply reminded and handed the pot of mashed potatoes and kraft paper.

"How stupid are you, I'm a ghost." Anna laughed a few times, held her hands with her mind to catch them, and sent them to the desk.

Lu Li closed the umbrella and placed it by the door frame in the corridor, then closed the door and took off his rain boots in front of the door.

"Do you like to read books?"

Ana looked at Lu Li in confusion, and it took a while to realize that he was talking to her, and nodded slightly: "I didn't like it before, but now I really want to see..."

Ana is already dead, and in her ghost form, she has no life needs, no need to eat or rest - if returning to the portrait to restore her energy does not count.

This gives her a lot of free time, and the bad thing is, she is a ghost and can't roam outside unscrupulously.

Ana's time is mostly occupied by doing nothing. Although it was better when I came to the detective agency than when I was in the gallery, it was not much better. So even a tulip can keep Anna busy for a long time, even though she really likes flowers.

"What type do you like to watch?" Lu Li asked again.

Anna still looked a little confused: "Well... fairy tales, and love, romance novels..."

Lu Li put on his shoes, took off his slightly damp windbreaker and hung it on the hanger: "I will try to bring some books back next time I go out."

"Oh…"

Anna responded in a daze, a little joy in her heart. And then until Lu Li returned to the desk and started eating, she thought to herself: Is Lu Li caring about herself?

This time, it has nothing to do with the reflex arc, it's just that Lu Li's way of caring is too hard-core.

She peeked at Lu Li a little embarrassedly, and found that he was eating seriously, as if the words just now were not uttered by him, or were mentioned casually.

So Anna began to wonder if she was thinking too much.

The relationship between Lu Li and Anna is hard to tell.

They seem to be friends but don't know each other very well - one way.

Anna might want to know about Lu Li's past, but Lu Li is not the type of person who would drag Anna to chat when he was free. And they have some meaning of being dependent on each other.

At least for Anna, even Lu Li, who was extremely emotionally indifferent, could feel the slightest sense of her dependence. Perhaps for this ghost girl, Lu Li was her whole life.

It may be understandable if you think about it, after all, he was the only person who was willing to contact Anna for a long time after her death.

This incident is just an episode. For the next few days, Lu Li did not go out again, and began to wait for O'Connor's action. While waiting, Marcus called with a new number.

   He brought a new commission.
