Exploiting Hollywood 1980

Chapter 85: why are you here

Chapter 85 Why are you here?

After finishing Gene's affairs, Ronald returned to the casting studio to update them with the actor's audition photos. There are many actors who have files with casting directors, but they have never filmed any major roles, and they are still struggling to make ends meet.

The income of many actors is extremely unstable. They can earn thousands of dollars when they have roles, but they may not receive any roles for up to a year, and they have to pay for various acting training classes, makeup artists, and hair stylists.

The annual audition photo update is a big burden for them. Commercial photographers generally charge them $100-200 for a set of shooting fees.

Here at the casting studio, take an audition photoshoot for only $50. If more copies are needed, just take the negatives yourself and go to a Kodak lab to develop a few copies.

This is an additional service for Julia and the others. It can update the audition photos, so as not to fail the audition due to the large difference between the actors and the photos. It also made the actors happy to communicate more with casting studios, and to cooperate better in the future. It is a win-win business strategy.

Of course, another winner is Ronald. I can shoot several times a week, at most I can shoot more than 10, and the income of 40 US dollars is really good.

After taking the photos, Ronald Lai stayed in the studio. There are many scripts accumulated in the studio over the years. Ronald begged for some and flipped through them casually.

"Hi, young photographer, we meet again."

"Why are you here?" Ronald heard the sound and saw that it was the big-headed taxi driver he met twice at the airport, "Oh, by the way, you are still the teacher of the acting training class, are you here to take classes? ?”

"No, no, let me see, who is the lucky guy who plays opposite my daughter."

It turns out that his daughter is also an actress.

"I haven't officially introduced myself yet, Ronald Lee."

"Call me Bert, that's my daughter Diane Lane." The door of his head pointed in the direction of the audition room.

Ronald saw a long-haired girl standing outside the audition room, chatting with a middle-aged man. It was the heroine of the movie "Love on the Sunset Bridge" that I saw in Los Angeles last time. The little girl lauded by Laurence Olivier as the new Grace Kelly.

"It turns out that he is the father of new Grace Kelly. No wonder I laughed so happily last time."

The middle-aged man opposite Diane had a director's viewfinder hanging around his neck, and he seemed to be the director of the movie.

"Is Diane going to act with an actor?"

"No, the director is auditioning for male actors. Today, several candidates will come and shoot a film with Diane to see who matches her better on the screen."

So Burt’s daughter Diane has been confirmed as the heroine candidate, and now she has to choose an actor to match her. The new Grace Kelly is still extraordinary.

"Time Magazine is also coming to interview Diane, and she will be on the cover in August." Burt talked about his daughter full of pride.

"Time Magazine?" Ronald had seen this magazine before, and the people who could appear on the cover of Time Weekly were usually big figures in the political and business circles.

"Dad, Dad, the director said he wanted the whole film... come here." Diane shouted to this side.

"Let's talk later, Ronald." Burt walked over and chatted with the director.

When Ronald saw that they couldn't talk for a few words, Bert started arguing with the director-like person. Burt was very excited, rejected the director with a firm attitude, took his daughter's hand and left.

Before leaving, the little girl made a face at the director, Ronald couldn't help but smile.

"God, they will go to Fiji in the South Pacific in a few days to start the machine. Now change the heroine?" Julia began to lose her composure after learning that Diane Lane rejected the heroine.

"That crazy director, Randall Kleiser, asked both the male and female protagonists to be naked when filming. Diane is only 14 years old, so he must be crazy." Margery replied.

"The previous leading actress Jennifer Jason Leigh (Jennifer Jason Leigh) also resigned because of this. She is already 17 years old and cannot accept full frontal nudity."

"Jennifer's father is the actor Vic Morrow, she has no shortage of opportunities." Julia said, "The producer must be driven crazy, who else does he have?"

"Look for Terry, she can promise anything for her daughter to act in a movie, and she can play the prostitute in "Embarrassing Baby" at the age of 12."

"Brooke Shields? She's fit. She's 5ft 10 (1.77m), so it's not like 14 years old, but male actors need to find taller ones. Try Jodie Foster (Jodie Foster), she is already 17 and has also acted as a child prostitute, maybe she can accept this kind of large-scale drama."

"In short, as soon as possible, it is best to make a decision today, so as not to delay the shooting in Fiji."

Julia called Brooke Stoudemire's mother and manager Terry:

"...Okay, okay, no problem, the director can agree to this request."

"Teri promised her daughter to be in 'The Blue Lagoon', but asked for full frontal **** to be done by a stand-in."

   "The director agreed?"

   "Does he have a choice?"

"If you agree early, Jennifer Jason Lee and Diane Lane can actually talk."

"Don't think about that, this lunatic may not fully keep his promise. We still have hundreds of actors to watch. The one that played Diane Lane before is invalid, and the height difference between the two is too great."

"Ronald, Ronald, you have to help us, there are hundreds of male actor profiles to be moved here."

Ronald moved several large and small videotapes and audition resumes.

"The big one is VHS, and the small one is BetaMax. You are also in charge of a video recorder. Help us find a male lead." Margaery assigned work to Ronald.

"What do you need?" Ronald asked.

"First of all, it must be tall enough. Brooke Stoudemire is 5 feet 10 inches (1.77 meters), so the male actor should be around 6 feet. Then he must be like a savage, the kind who left human society since childhood and lived alone."

   "Like Tarzan?"

   "Yes, like Tarzan."

"Ah... hey" Ronald yawned a lot. After watching a lot of video tapes, few of them met the requirements. Not tall enough, is not wild enough. "

"Click", will there be any surprises when watching the tape newly put into the VCR.

A man with a wild temperament appeared on the screen, full of wildness, the lines on his face were like sculptures, and his eyes and nose looked slightly mentally retarded.

"This guy is nice, he looks like a savage." Ronald took out the video tape and walked to Julia, "Look at this, Julia."

Julia's eyes lit up, "It's really good, what's your name?"

Ronald picks up the attached resume, "Sean Penn"

Margery took it over and looked at it, "Unfortunately, it's only 5 feet 8 (1.73 meters), and it can't match Brooke Stoudemire."

"Didn't you say that we should start from the character's characteristics? I think his characteristics are very prominent." Ronald was a little confused. When he first chose Gene, Julia and Margaery supported him.

"It's different this time. This is a movie featuring boys and girls stranded on a deserted island in the sea, living a primitive life, getting married and having children. There is no deep drama, and the movie will start shooting in Fiji soon. Type fit is the most important thing.”

Ronald nodded, it seems that not every movie casts emphasis on personality fit. Come to think of it, what is the character of the cast of "High School of Rock"? As long as it's cheap enough and looks good.

"How about this one?" Margaret chose another one, and a handsome guy appeared on the screen.

Christopher Atkins (Christopher Atkins), 5 feet 11 inches, is tall enough. An actor and model in New York, this is his surfboard commercial.

"It's very handsome, it seems a little not wild enough." Ronald picked a problem.

"It's okay, let him curl his hair, it's like Tarzan." Julia made a final decision and went to discuss with the director.

Ronald and Margery sat at the table, eating cookies Julia had saved up for overtime, and drinking coffee.

"Actually, you are tall enough, and curling your hair is fine, Ronald. Do you want to go to Fiji to film with Brooke Stoudemire?" Margery was teasing.

"I've promised David da Silva to watch Gene while filming Hot Lunch."

"Then you may have missed an opportunity to become famous in one fell swoop."

"Well, do I really have acting talent?"

   Ronald and Margery laughed together.

But the name of this "hot lunch" really needs to be changed. Ever since I knew about the Porcelain movie, it's weird to say this word every time.
