Fairy’s Box
Chapter 71: sacrificial hall
The sacrificial area is very different from the other three areas. The entrance is a white pointed arch, which is embedded in the mud at the bottom of the lake.
The heavy stone door opens to the outside, revealing the inner wall with exquisite relief. The ceiling is a semi-circular arch structure, and a row of white candles hang from the inside to the outside.
They stepped inside the door and proceeded cautiously and slowly. Every ten feet on the left and right, there are a pair of slender beams, supported by the vault, combined with the transparent candlelight, there is a light and strange feeling of flying.
The three of Yale were not hindered in any way, and the crisp footsteps echoed and lingered in their ears. The delicate relief walls reflect the cold light, the high walls cast dark shadows on the stone slabs, and the entire sacrificial area is immersed in a strong religious atmosphere.
"It's not an ordinary **** stick..."
Nicole strode forward, looking at the murals on the left and right out of the corner of her eyes, she had to admit that the designer of this sacrificial area had profound attainments.
A few people passed through the spacious but deserted corridor unimpeded, pushed open another heavy stone door, and the bottom of the door rubbed against the floor, making a sour scratching sound.
boom! The doorway closed automatically from behind them.
The field of vision suddenly widened, and the circular vault above the seven pairs of white beam pillars was propped up in all directions. The suddenly wide space, combined with the structure of the hall, gives a majestic illusion of infinite extension.
Clark walked to the center of the hall, looked around, and saw eight statues of women wearing black robes and holding lamps in their left hands. They were scattered around the edge, forming a circle, and said, "This is probably the so-called sacrifice area."
Nicole wrinkled her upturned nose and moved quickly, took off the lamp in the hands of one of the sculptures, sniffed it, and threw it to the ground.
The lamp was snapped into two pieces with a bang, and the yellow grease overflowed from the tail port, exuding a faint fishy smell.
"This is Vam's grease." The female knight turned her head with disgust, and found that the black-haired knight was lying on the ground, as if carefully observing the inscription on the floor.
"What are you looking at?" She leaned over curiously.
"These things, I have a little impression." Yale held his chin in a fascination, slid his right hand over a slate, pointed to the strange characters above and said:
"This character should mean gathering!"
He stood up, swept his eyes around, and suddenly pointed to a slate behind several people: "This piece is a pure character."
"This piece should be transformation... this piece is extraction, this piece is exchange, this piece... is sublimation!"
Could it be that! An electric arc flashed in Yale's mind, he grabbed a beam at random, and climbed to the dome with several vertical jumps, and looked down:
I saw that the slates on the ground were interlocked, forming a huge diamond-shaped pattern. The eight statues were located at the center of the pattern.
"Sacrificial exchange... an art out of nothing, this is a black magic circle!" he shouted down.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! At this time, the lamps of the seven sculptures were all lit, and huge pillars of fire rushed towards the dome. Directly opposite the entrance of the corridor, that is, directly in front of the hall, the viewing platform with a cross-shaped plane slowly sinks.
Instead, a figure wearing a leather mask and a black robe rose up. The black robe depicted complex and luxurious runes, and held a gold-encrusted glass in his hand.
pop, pop, pop...
"It's a gorgeous move to echo the status of a god." Nicole clapped sarcastically.
The man didn't respond, turned to the black-haired knight, and as soon as he spoke, he could hear Raul's voice: "I didn't expect that among the apprentice knights, there are still people who can understand the principles of black magic, which really surprised me."
Yale raised his eyebrows and took a step forward: "It's just a little involved, but you can't beat so many villagers with sorcery."
"How can you say it's a sorcery!" Raul stood up abruptly, the red liquid swaying faintly in the cup in his hand, and the other hand pressed his chest violently:
"Just study hard, relying on it, mortals can also use magic! How can such a blessing be called magic!"
"Every drop of mana of black magic costs life." Clark said with a solemn expression, and he felt the huge mana from the cup in the other's hand.
"So what!" The man sneered at his words, turning his eyes to the cup in his hand: "Since I was very young, I have dreamed of becoming a mage, even the worst and worst mage, I just want to be a mage... "
Having said this, he paused, suddenly clenched his right fist, his eyes slowly turned red, and continued with gritted teeth: "I work hard day and night, after working hard in the mine every day, I still spend more than ten hours meditating. But, no matter what, I can't condense even a little mana. They say it's called lack of talent..."
"I have talent!" Raul's voice became sharp and high-pitched: "No matter how complicated the rune is, I will remember it after reading it once, and no matter how obscure incantation, I will be able to speak it a few more times. Why? ...Why can't I condense a little mana!? When I learned about the existence of black magic, the joy that came from my heart can't be described in words... So, I don't care what method I use, as long as I can use spells, how many times are there? Only Vam's life is nothing."
Seeing that he seemed to be sinking into paranoid memories, the three of Nicole kept silent and approached slowly. As long as they got a few feet closer, they could capture them in one fell swoop.
"Stop it!" The man raised the cup in his hand and shouted, "If you don't want this thing to explode!"
A lot of bubbles emerged from the liquid in the cup, and a high concentration of mana fluctuations was faintly revealed. Once the explosion was enough to evaporate the lake water, they had to passively stop.
After seeing this, Raul leveled the cup, and his body trembled: "I should have known, how can you understand me, how can you understand me, a natural transcendence like you!"
"There is no transcendence among us." Nicole raised her pretty face and said word by word: "And you just chose the wrong direction."
"Who knows..." He suddenly calmed down and looked at the female knight: "Since you can come here, you know a lot of things."
"Including what you did twenty years ago." Ni Shi's line of sight was erratic, thinking about countermeasures, and continued: "Since you knew we would come, why didn't you choose to run away?"
"Escape? This is the last refuge, where can I go if I leave here?" At this moment, Raul's eyes dimmed.
The muscles on Yale's left face twitched, and he snorted: "At this time, you don't have to talk about your ridiculous doomsday prophecy, the gentleman who uses black magic but calls himself an angel."
"This is the apocalypse." The man looked at the black-haired knight indifferently, and said lightly: "You can't understand, this is the difference between a prophet and a commoner."
Clarke's eyes showed the cold light of sharp blades, and he said in a deep voice, "The Bible is the last apocalypse, and Christ is the last savior!"
Although he is not a devout believer, he is still instinctively disgusted by acts of blasphemy.
"I have no interest and no obligation to save you." Under the mask, Raul's lips curled into an arrogant smile, and he threw the cup into the sky: "I place hope and the future, open it, Holy Grail!"
