Harry Potter and the Old Ones
Chapter 289: Enter Beauxbatons
"It's almost six," said Ron, looking at his watch and looking at the driveway leading to the front door. "How do you think they're coming? By train?"
"I don't think so," said Hermione.
"So how did you get here? Broomsticks?" Harry looked up. "It's almost six," said Ron, looking at his watch and looking at the driveway leading to the front door. "How do you think they're coming? By train?"
"I don't think so," said Hermione.
"How come? Broomsticks?" Harry guessed, looking up at the starry sky.
"I don't think...from that far..."
"Portkeys?" Ron guessed. "Or they can Apparate, maybe in their place, people under seventeen are allowed to Apparate too?"
"How many times do I have to tell you that Apparitions are not allowed in the Hogwarts grounds?" said Hermione impatiently.
"I remember Beauxbatons should have flown, and Durmstrang should have swam," Tiera said.
They glanced excitedly at the gradually darkening field, but saw no movement.
Everything was silent, peaceful, and the same as usual.
At this moment, Dumbledore, who was standing in the back row with the other teachers, shouted—
"Ah! If I'm not mistaken, the representative of Beauxbatons has arrived!"
"Where?" many students asked eagerly, looking in different directions.
"There!" shouted a sharp-eyed sixth grader, pointing to the sky above the Forbidden Forest.
A behemoth, much bigger than a broomstick—or a hundred broomsticks—was speeding across the dark blue sky toward the castle, growing in size.
"It's a dragon!" screamed a freshman, so excited that he didn't know what to do.
"Don't be silly... it's a house flying!" said Colin Creevey's brother Dennis Creevey.
Dennis's guess is a bit closer -
As the black behemoth passed over the treetops of the Forbidden Forest, lit by the light of the castle window, they saw a huge powder-blue carriage coming towards them.
It was the size of a house, and it was carried into the air by twelve winged horses, all silver-maned horses, each about the size of an elephant.
The carriage flew even lower, and was descending at an extremely fast speed. The students standing in the first three rows hurriedly retreated, and then——
There was an earth-shattering loud noise, and Neville jumped back in fright, stepping on the feet of a fifth-year Slytherin classmate—
I saw the hooves slam on the ground, all of them the size of a vegetable plate.
In the blink of an eye, the carriage also landed on the ground, vibrating on its huge wheels, while the golden horses shook their huge heads, their fiery red eyes twitching.
The carriage door bears a coat of arms—
Consists of two golden criss-crossed wands, each with three stars emerging from it.
The door opened, and a boy in a light blue robe jumped out of the carriage, bent down, groped for something on the floor of the carriage, and opened a golden spiral staircase.
He jumped back respectfully, and a shiny black high-heeled shoe stuck out of the carriage—
This shoe is the size of a child's sled—
Immediately after, a woman appeared, the size of which a Hogwarts student had never seen in their life.
So it's self-evident why the carriages and those silver-maned horses are so big.
Several people gasped in shock.
This woman, now slowly and gracefully reaching the bottom of the steps, was turning around to look at the waiting crowd with wide-eyed eyes——
It made her seem even more bizarrely bigger.
When she stepped into the light spilling from the hall, she was found to have a handsome olive-colored face, large black, watery eyes, and a pointed nose.
Her hair was pulled back in a shiny bun at the base of her neck.
She was draped from head to toe in a black forge dress, and her neck and her thick fingers gleamed with opals of opulence.
Dumbledore began to applaud, and the classmates clapped along with them. Many stood on tiptoe, trying to see the woman more clearly.
Her face slackened, a graceful smile spread out, and she walked towards Dumbledore with a gleaming hand.
Although Dumbledore was also tall, he barely stooped to kiss the hand.
"Dear Lady Maxime." Dumbledore said happily, "Welcome to Hogwarts."
"Mr. Dumbledore," said Mrs. Maxim in a low voice, "I hope you are well."
"Very good, thank you," said Dumbledore.
"My student." Madame Maxime said, waving a huge hand casually behind her, "I also brought an old friend of yours this time, I hope you don't mind."
About forty or fifty boys and girls had disembarked from the carriage and were now standing behind Madame Maxime. Judging from their appearance, most of them are between seventeen and nineteen years old, but there are also a few children between twelve and sixteen years old, all of them trembling slightly——
This is not surprising, since the robes on their bodies appear to be made of fine silk, and none of them is wearing a cape.
A few students, who had their heads wrapped in scarves or turbans, stood in the huge shadow cast by Madame Maxime, looking up at Hogwarts with wary expressions on their faces.
At the end of the group of students, a thin and lanky figure came out of the carriage——
The figure was wearing a pale white dress, and the body seemed to be made of metal, making a "crunching" rubbing sound when walking.
The most peculiar thing was the figure's head, which was a round crystal ball. Inside the crystal ball was a face as old as a zombie, and a pale white wig was symbolically placed on the crystal ball.
The wig didn't seem to be well fixed on the bare crystal ball, and the figure had to stretch out his hand from time to time to push the wig up to prevent the wig from falling off.
"Lemay!" Dumbledore shouted happily, opening his arms and hugging the thin figure, "Why didn't you say you were coming?"
"Lemay!" Hermione, who was standing beside Tiera, whispered to Tiera, "Is that Nick Lemay?"
"I'm just making up my mind," Nickleme said crunchingly. "After hugging Dumbledore, I looked into the crowd behind him—"
"Aha!" Nicklame cried, and the eyes in the crystal ball glanced behind Dumbledore--
"Tiera!" Nick Lemay said with a wave of his hand, "Long time no see Tiera! I'll see you compare—"
"Cough!" Dumbledore coughed heavily~lightnovelpub.net~ and then quietly stretched out his foot and kicked Nick LeMay heavily——
"Ah—!" The metal body supporting the crystal ball collapsed instantly, turning into metal rods—
The crystal ball fell to the ground instantly, bounced and rolled to Tiera's feet—
"Grandpa Lemay..." Tiera picked up the crystal ball and asked, "Did you finally die and put your soul in the crystal ball?"
"Oh, no, it's not." Nick Lemay in the crystal ball pushed back, gradually revealing the rest of his body, as well as his experimental bench—
"To be honest, after you left, I missed you a little bit." Nick Lemay said, "So I got up and decided to come and see you, and I came to see the Triwizard Tournament once in a hundred years. Really, the last time I watched this game was on my 330th birthday."
"Then can I live in your alchemy hut for a while longer?" Tiera asked innocently, "I also miss Lord Lemay—"
"Go away." Nick Lemay said with a change of face.
