The Monkey King

Chapter 498: lecture

The next morning, before dawn, when Xuanzang opened the door, he saw Jin Chi and all the elders in the temple guarding the door, and he couldn't help being a little stunned.

Little White Dragon, Black Bear Spirit, and Lu Liuguai all stretched their heads and watched.

Hearing Jin Chi put his hands together, he bowed with a dry smile and said, "Master Xuanzang, I have offended you more than two days ago, please forgive me."

"What is the Master Jinchi referring to?" Xuanzang asked softly.

"This…"

All the elders present couldn't help laughing dryly. Jin Chi folded his hands together and saluted again, saying, "Master Xuanzang is really magnanimous. Preaching."

"Opening the forum to lecture on the scriptures?"

"Yes." Jin Chi nodded and said, "Master Xuanzang said yesterday that the poor monk was too stupid to comprehend it on the spot. It wasn't until last night that he suddenly realized it. Therefore, after consulting with all the disciples in the temple, he decided to invite Master Xuanzang to serve as the center of the temple. Lectures up and down, and I also ask Master Xuanzang not to refuse."

Xuanzang couldn't help but froze for a moment, and his eyes quietly drifted to the monkey standing not far behind Jin Chi.

"It's really a big reversal. Manjushri is no longer in the Chanyuan. Depending on the situation, they are sincere in asking you to teach the scriptures this time." The monkey's voice sounded in Xuanzang's mind.

After hesitating for a while, Xuanzang folded his hands together with a smile on his face, bowed and said: "The poor monk will do his best for the entrustment of the master of Jinchi."

After saying this, all the elders immediately smiled wide-eyed.

Jin Chi was also slightly relieved. He bowed and said, "The poor monk has thanked Master Xuanzang for the whole hospital. Yesterday, the poor monk asked questions, and Master Xuanzang answered them. Today, the poor monk wants to ask Master Xuanzang to talk about the scriptures you want to talk about, how about you?"

Xuanzang raised his head slightly and thought for a while. Said: "It's better, let's talk about 'Buddha', okay?"

Hearing the words, the elders were all shocked and looked at each other in dismay.

Although it has been discussed before coming here, Xuanzang decides the topic for today's lecture. But I really did not expect Xuanzang to choose such a topic.

Jin Chi hesitated for a moment. He asked softly, "This...how can the Buddha get it?"

Xuanzang asked back: "No matter what a Buddha is, I don't know what a Buddha is. How can I become a Buddha?"

gritted his teeth, and Jin Chi cupped his hands and said, "If that's the case, then there is Master Lao Xuanzang."

With the order of   , in a short time, all the monks were called up.

On the main hall. Xuanzang talked about it in various ways, explained the profound things in simple terms, and gave another insight into the Buddhist scriptures that they were already familiar with. A sentence of Buddha revealed in Xuanzang's mouth can be turned into a magnificent chapter like a world, with countless perspectives, attracting the admiration of countless disciples.

Different from ordinary monks teaching the scriptures, Xuanzang not only gave his own answers, but also raised his own questions, which also contained many of Xuanzang's own expectations, which was thought-provoking.

To become a Buddha. But it is not limited to becoming a Buddha.

This lecture lasted from one quarter of the hour to three quarters of Xu hour, which is more than six hours.

During the    period, some elders were afraid that Xuanzang would not be able to continue teaching the scriptures, and suggested to take a break, but Xuanzang said: "As long as there is one person who is really willing to listen to Xuanzang's lectures, Xuanzang will continue to speak."

The disciples were all focused. unwilling to leave.

This scene made Jin Chi feel a little crazy.

In his life, he taught countless sutras, but he has never had such a scene. He was able to speak to the point where a group of disciples could not sleep or eat, just because they did not want to miss every word of Xuanzang, so that he regretted it for the rest of his life.

For a whole day, under the guidance of Xuanzang, they roamed the world that belonged to the Buddha, which they had always dreamed of, but it was difficult to touch.

In the evening, Jin Chi announced the end of the sermon, but many disciples were unwilling to leave, and several disciples requested to go west with Xuanzang on the spot.

In the procrastination, the sky is full of stars.

After finally dismissing the disciples in the courtyard, seeing no one around, Jin Chi slowly came to Xuanzang, knelt on his knees, and kowtowed.

Xuanzang was startled, he quickly reached out his hand to help him, and said, "Why did the Master of Jinchi make such a great gift?"

Na Jinchi sighed softly: "The poor monk has been practicing Buddhism for more than two hundred years. Although he is famous far and near, he has never been able to touch the original intention of the Buddha. It is impossible to talk about becoming a Buddha. Everyone says that the poor monk can prolong his life. It is the poor monk who deeply understands the Buddhist scriptures and obtains the grace of the Buddha. Only the poor monk knows in his heart that the longevity of the poor monk is only due to the merits of the peach. Today, listening to the master's lecture, the poor monk knows that there are people outside the world and there are heavens. If there is no such peach, the poor monk will I'm afraid it's no different from the disciples in this courtyard."

Having said that, he took a step back, fell to the ground again, and said loudly: "I urge Master Xuanzang to accept Jin Chi as his apprentice. Jin Chi is willing to follow the Master to the west and lead a horse to beg for the Master. If the Master does not agree, Jin Chi will kneel. Sorry."

"This…"

Xuanzang couldn't help but hesitate. The monkey's laughter immediately sounded in his mind: "Hey, there is one more person, what can I do?"

Xuanzang took a deep breath, leaned over to support Jinchi again, and said softly: "The master of Jinchi is serious, Xuanzang travels westward, not to become a Buddha, but to Purdue. If you travel west with Xuanzang, you will definitely not be able to become a Buddha. If you want to become a Buddha, you can go anywhere."

"But... Jin Chi has been cultivating in this temple for more than 200 years, but he has never understood the true meaning of Buddhism. If he can accompany the master, and get the master's guidance, he will soon be enlightened."

"The reason why Venerable Jinchi can't become a Buddha is because he can't see clearly and can't let go. If you can let go of common things and become a Buddha, it's just a step away."

"But this step is as difficult as going to the sky. I also ask the Master to have mercy and show Jin Chi a clear path." At this point, Jin Chi was already in tears.

Xuanzang was silent for a while, then said softly: "To become a Buddha is extraordinary, you must have an epiphany. If you don't have an epiphany, no matter how powerful others are, you will not be able to help. The poor monk is powerless to help the master of Jinchi become a Buddha. ."

"As a result, isn't this poor monk hopeless in this life?"

Taking a deep breath, Xuanzang said, "The poor monk cannot help the Master Jinchi become a Buddha, but he can give Master Jinchi a piece of advice."

Hearing the words, Jin Chi was instantly invigorated, and quickly said: "Please also ask the Mage to point out the maze!"

"The way to become a Buddha. You can first realize it and then practice it, or you can first practice the Buddha's way and then realize it. In this case, the ten golden Buddhas in this courtyard should be demolished by Master Jinchi."

"Dismantled... dismantled?" Master Jin Chi was shocked.

"It's demolished." Xuanzang said lightly: "After demolishing, it will be turned into silver taels. In the year of disaster, buy some rice grains and give them to the disaster victims. The same is true for the golden Buddha, and the same for other things."

"This..." Jin Chi's face trembled involuntarily.

"Worshiping the Buddha is nothing but arrogance. The so-called 'just begging for food for the body' is the way of asceticism. It is an act of exercising one's heart and nature. Although gold and silver are good, they are nothing more than common things. How can you become a Buddha just by thinking hard in the courtyard?"

Jin Chi stared blankly at Xuan Zang, his eyes blinking.

After a long time, he accepted it, gritted his teeth, and kowtowed, "Tomorrow, the poor monk will instruct his disciples according to what the master said, to demolish all the ten golden Buddhas!"

  …

Late at night. Jin Chi personally sent Xuanzang back to his residence, and he said goodbye respectfully before returning.

Pushing open the courtyard door, Xuanzang saw the monkey leaning crookedly on the stone chair in the courtyard, drinking tea.

"Is this considered completed?" the monkey asked softly.

Xuanzang shook his head and said, "Temporarily, unknown."

After a long sigh, the monkey poured a cup of tea for Xuanzang, pushed it over, and said leisurely: "It's really good to keep the clouds open to see the moon, but that old guy is not a good thing, let's see him being crossed. It's really frustrating."

Xuanzang smiled lightly, and slowly sat down on the edge of the stone table, cupping the teacup in both hands and tasting it carefully.

"Did you guess when you preached to him yesterday that this would be the result today?"

"Guess what, what if you can't guess?"

"If you guess it, it means you have foresight. If you can't guess it, it's just luck."

Xuanzang smiled faintly again. He sighed slowly, "How about the poor monk and the great sage tell a story?"

"Say."

"There was a farmer. One day, a **** came to him in a dream and told him that because of his good deeds and virtues, he would be given ten thousand taels of gold. So the farmer waited at home every day, and even the fields were deserted until he was hungry. When he died, he never saw the golden taels given by the gods. After he died, he met the **** in the underworld. So he asked the **** why he didn't keep his promise. The **** said that the promise had already been fulfilled, and the gold was buried in taels of gold. In his field. The poor farmer has not tilled the land for a day since the gods dreamed, and naturally there is no way to get it."

Hearing this, the monkey couldn't help laughing: "How old is this story?"

"The Great Sage has heard this story?"

   "I heard it. But it's not a farmer, it's a fisherman, and it's similar."

"What conclusion did the Great Sage draw from this?"

Monkey was stunned, turned his head to look at Xuanzang.

He only heard Xuanzang whisper: "The poor monk is the farmer, and the salvation of all beings is ten thousand taels of gold. If the poor monk does nothing, even if Tanaka really buried ten thousand taels of gold, what would he do with the poor monk? Therefore, All the poor monks have to do is to work hard every day to cultivate and do their best."

"What if Tanaka didn't have that gold?"

"Remember what the poor monk said to the Great Sage yesterday?"

"Let's go with the flow, don't force everything?"

   Xuanzang nodded silently.

"Then... what happened to Purdue Proving Dao? In fact, I have never understood it. Take advantage of this opportunity to tell me."

"Proving Dao Purdue is not the work of one person, but someone must take the first step. Just like the story just now, many people have heard it, but not everyone who has heard it will do it, let alone everyone. Everyone will believe it, because it’s just a story. All Xuanzang needs to do is…” Having said that, Xuanzang dipped his hand in tea and wrote the word “xing” on the stone table, saying: “Do it yourself, let them all See for yourself the 'golden taels'."

Monkey stared at the word "line" quietly for a long time, until the word was dry in the wind, and then he said softly: "How do you know that there must be 'Golden Ten Thousand Taels' in this field?"

   "Because of belief." Xuanzang said.

  …

The next morning, Jinchi, as he had told Xuanzang yesterday, ordered all the golden Buddhas in the temple to be demolished and not a single one left.

The disciples in the entire temple were busy, and he himself led the elders in the temple to guard the door early.

Seeing Xuanzang and his party leading the horse and walking slowly out of the courtyard where they lived with their luggage, Jin Chi hurried forward to meet him, put his hands together, bowed and said, "I listened to the scriptures yesterday, and I benefited a lot. Master Xuanzang."

Xuanzang also put his hands together. Reciprocate silently.

That Jinchi said again: "I originally wanted to ask Master Xuanzang to stay for a longer time, but considering that the Master's journey to the west is to prove the Dao, and the road is long, I can't wait any longer, I just hope that when the Master returns from the Dao test Don't forget to stay in this Guanyin Temple for a few more days. First, I hope that the Master will explain the sutras and doubts to the disciples of the temple, and secondly, I also look forward to the fruit of the Master's realization in this trip."

Xuanzang smiled faintly, bowed and said, "When I return, I also ask the people from Jinchi to take care of me."

"Master, don't say that. Jin Chi is in front of the Master. He calls himself a disciple. It's not an exaggeration. How can you tell me?"

Surrounded by all the monks in the Chanyuan, everyone set out from the Guanyin Chanyuan, went down the mountain, went all the way west, and walked straight out of Sanli Road. Xuanzang advised Jinchi and others not to send them away. The people wanted to send it, and they traveled another seven miles.

It was not until ten miles away that Jinchi and his party repeatedly told Xuanzang to visit the Guanyin Temple again when he returned, and finally stopped and watched Xuanzang go away.

Along the way, the monkey led Ma Youyou and said, "I really didn't expect it. When we arrived, we were greeted by the entire courtyard, and when we left, we also saw the entire courtyard as a farewell, but the charm of this is much worse. The old monk gave it like this. It's over, think about the face at the time. It's really a little uncomfortable."

Xuanzang rode on his horse and said softly, "Who can be free from doubts? Even if there is a past, as long as it can be corrected, what's wrong with it? Besides, the Master Jinchi has never done anything wrong, and now that he is fully enlightened, we can only talk about his dismantling of the Golden Buddha. , the act of donating food to the disaster victims. It is a merit. What's wrong?"

"I used to be unhappy with people who usually blow their heads with a stick."

"So, you are the great sage, and the poor monk is Xuanzang, and each has his own considerations." Xuanzang chuckled softly: "All the way to the west, each takes what he needs."

looked at each other, and both of them laughed, so that the black bear spirit and the little white dragon were inexplicable for a while. On the contrary, Lu Liuguai seemed to understand, but his brows were furrowed tightly, and there was a trace of doubt in Xuanzang's eyes.

  …

Xi Niu Hezhou, in the Bibotan Dragon Palace, a fish spirit is carefully prostrate in front of the nine-headed insect.

Nine-headed worm sat on the stone chair surrounded by coral, frowned tightly, and said softly, "Has Lu Liuguai met the Great Sage?"

That fish spirit cupped his hands and said, "If you return to the concubine, the news is the report of our side's detailed report hidden in Lu Liuguai's army, and it is absolutely correct."

"How did he know where the Great Sage is?"

"This... I don't know about it when I was young. I only know that it was the news that Miss Ying'er brought back."

"Ying'er?" The Nine-Headed Worm raised his head slightly and sighed lightly, "Is there any other news about the Great Sage?"

"No, the Great Sage's consciousness is astonishing, and the meticulous work does not dare to approach."

The Princess of Halloween, who was sitting on the side, said warmly and softly: "Otherwise, you should follow the example of Lu Liuguai and go to see the Great Sage? If he wants to find you, he will not be able to run away from the ends of the earth."

"Hey." The Nine-Headed Worm shook his head and said, "When I saw him, how did I tell him? I said that for the sake of my father-in-law, I took away most of the enlightened monsters under Lu Liuguai, and over the years Constraining their development secretly, have you ever restrained a few demon kings for Heavenly Court?"

Halloween Princess couldn't help but be silent.

stretched out his hand and rubbed his temples, and the nine-headed insect said softly: "It's been hundreds of years, I really didn't expect him to come back. If I knew he would come back...I also..."

spread his hands, but Nine-Headed Worm could no longer speak.

The problem of the longevity of the Dragon King of All Saints is the death point of the nine-headed worm, which is well known in the three worlds. What if a huge demon kingdom was created using the wealth left by Huaguo Mountain at that time? He can take the mortal world into his pocket, but he is not a monkey, and it is impossible to break the Nantianmen. The mighty ones will not let him do as he pleases.

If you can't get into Nantianmen, you won't be able to get the peach, and if you can't get the peach, you won't be able to prolong your life...

Perhaps, even if he knew that the monkey would return after more than 600 years, he would have made the same decision as before. For him, it was a dead end from beginning to end.

After being silent for a long time, the Princess Halloween said softly: "Otherwise, let me see the Great Sage. He also knows about the father's affairs. Even if it is to blame, it should not be too strict."

"Let you go, where can I look at my face?" Hydra patted Princess Halloween's hand, shook his head and sighed: "Let me think about it again. After a few days, I'll go by myself. Please sin."

Looking at the sad-faced Hydra, Princess Halloween nodded slightly and said nothing.

  …

   South Zhanbu Continent.

The crowd went all the way here, sleeping in the wind. Five days later, when I came to the Guanyin Temple, which was 80 miles away, I saw a stone stele among the weeds on the side of the mountain road.

The moment    saw the stone tablet, the monkey paused slightly. (To be continued~^~)
